Wow, school is almost out and summer is right around the corner! What are we going to do this summer?
Gas has finally topped $4 per gallon this past week, with projections of it going even higher throughout the summer. Perhaps we should camp earlier in the summer to avoid higher prices? Should we stay closer to home, or should we camp longer and conserve gas costs.
I'm hopeful that we'll still make it to Kentucky to see Rachel this summer! The Saturn gets 32 mpg on the highway and gas is cheaper the further south we go, so that's promising. Michelle and Steve will be coming north to Michigan around the 4th of July, so we won't be making a trip to N.C. this summer (that will save a few dollars).
The other consideration is what will Rhonda's plastic surgeon want to work on next? Her next appointment is June 3. I guess many things will hinge on what he wants to accomplish and when the work begins.
Meanwhile, the weather is finally turning nice this weekend (low to mid 70s) so I'm going to work on the trailer and continue (albeit slowly) the prep work to take it out on the road. We're hopeful to get to Rogers City, and/or Brimley this summer. We're also looking ahead to maybe a fall trip to Tawas after Labor Day. Again, everything is up in the air.
Welcome
If you've stumbled onto this page, well just enjoy the ramblings of a middle-aged guy who needs to get off his assets more often. But for the time I'm here I might as well produce something for the internet (I really believe this whole internet thing will take off and be useful!)
Feel free to make comments, but be nice!
